Why This Comparison Exists
Every month, hundreds of businesses search for "best WhatsApp API provider India" or "WATI alternative cheaper." Most comparison articles are either out of date, written by the platforms themselves, or skip the pricing details that actually matter. This one tries to be different.
We're Tenreply, so we're a party in this comparison — read accordingly. We've tried to be accurate about where competitors are stronger, and honest about where we're not the right fit.
The Four Platforms
WATI
WATI is the most internationally recognised WhatsApp business platform. It has a polished product, strong documentation, a large partner ecosystem, and widespread name recognition. It's frequently the first platform businesses try.
The catch: it charges per seat in USD ($39–49/seat/month on standard plans). For a team of 5 agents, that's $195–245/month in seat costs before touching Meta's message fees. The G2 review page has "expensive" appearing 39 times in customer reviews. WATI also adds a markup on Meta's per-message rates — check your contract for the exact percentage.
Right for: teams of 1–3 people who value polished UX and don't mind the cost, or businesses with international billing preferences.
AiSensy
AiSensy is the cheapest entry point in the Indian market. Their starter plan starts at ₹999/month and claims 200,000+ businesses use the platform. It's particularly strong for broadcast-heavy use cases — if your primary goal is sending template messages to large contact lists, AiSensy is efficient and affordable.
The catch: the team inbox and CRM features are more basic than WATI or Tenreply. If your team needs advanced conversation management, assignment workflows, or deep automation, you'll hit limits. Documentation and support quality can be inconsistent.
Right for: solopreneurs, very small teams, and businesses where broadcasting is the primary use case and conversation management is secondary.
Interakt
Interakt is a strong choice if you're on Shopify. Their native Shopify integration is among the best in the market: abandoned cart recovery, order update automation, and COD confirmation flows are tight and reliable. Unlimited agents on all plans, INR billing.
The catch: the product is clearly optimised for ecommerce. If you're a service business, B2B company, or real estate team, the ecommerce-first UI can feel like a mismatch. Also can be slower to release non-ecommerce features.
Right for: Shopify-first D2C brands in India who want native ecommerce automation.
Tenreply
That's us. Tenreply is built around the shared inbox and multi-channel support use case: WhatsApp, Instagram DM, and Facebook Messenger in one place, with unlimited agents, flat INR pricing, and no markup on Meta's message rates. We're strongest for service businesses, support teams, and companies where the human conversation is the product (rather than the automation being the product).
The catch: we're younger than WATI, so there are features that WATI's ecosystem has that we're still building. Our Shopify integration is functional but not as deep as Interakt's. For pure broadcast volume at the lowest possible platform cost, AiSensy is cheaper than us on the starter tier.
Right for: teams who need multiple channels, unlimited agents without per-seat cost, and a full shared inbox experience. Also right if you want INR billing and India-first support.
Side-by-Side Pricing (June 2026)

| AiSensy | ₹999/mo | Unlimited (higher plans) | INR | Check contract |

The Meta Message Markup Question
This is the hidden cost most comparison articles skip. Meta charges you per message delivered (post-July 2025 pricing model). Your BSP then bills you for those messages — but some add a 15–25% markup on top of Meta's rates.
At 50,000 marketing messages per month to Indian numbers (₹0.78/message): a 20% markup adds ₹7,800 every month on top of your platform fee. Over a year, that's ₹93,600 in additional cost that has nothing to do with the platform quality — it's just margin.
Always ask: "Do you pass through Meta's rates directly or add a markup?" Get it in writing. Use Tenreply's free calculator to estimate your actual message costs under any scenario.
